The First Fossil Wood Conservation Lab of Thailand!

Our new lab for fossil wood research and conservation in Bantak Petrified Forest Park, Tak, Thailand

Picture
A laboratory dedicated to research and conservation of petrified wood, as well as flora and fauna of Bantak Petrified Forest Park was built in May 2014 and open to the public for student activities in July 2014.

With assistance from conservator Evangelia Kyriazi we have already begun preliminary testing on the petrified wood in the park to assess the damage, deterioration rates and conclude possible solutions for conserving the excavated specimens.
